George W. and Mary E. Smith were among the earliest settlers (and first African American settlers) of Broadlands, Ill. This collection consists of three posters, designed in conjunction with the Krannert Art Museum exhibit Through the Years: African American History Comes Home. Two of the posters feature copies of photographs, obituaries, and biographical newspaper articles about the Smiths and their descendants. A third poster features the exhibit's credits.
The Library acquired the posters from the University's African American Research Center in 2012.
