This collection contains a scrapbook with black-and-white photographs compiled by Evelene Beardslee during her time at Monticello Ladies Seminary from 1932-1934.
Evelene Elizabeth Beardslee (1914-2009) attended Monticello Ladies Seminary in Godfrey, Illinois, from 1932-1934. The school was established by Captain Benjamin Godfrey as the Monticello Female Seminary in 1835. In 1934, she enrolled at Michigan State College. She married John Malcolm in 1936 and the couple had two children together.
This collection consists of a scrapbook kept by Evelene Beardslee. The scrapbook mostly contains photographs and programs from her time at Monticello Ladies Seminary in Godfrey, Illinois, from 1932-1934. The black-and-white images show Beardslee and her friends in school uniforms, around campus, and at formal social events, although many images are not captioned. There are also a few items from after Beardslee left the Seminary to attend Michigan State College in 1934.
