This collection consists of a bibliography on Lincoln memorials, such as statues, busts, monuments, parks, and buildings, prepared by Esther Marian Shubert in 1938.
Esther Marian Shubert prepared her bibliography, titled "Lincoln Trails and Shrines," for a Library Science course in which she was enrolled in 1938. Shubert's paper was prepared for and given to the University of Illinois' Ricker Library of Architecture for research use.
This collection contains one 35-page paper entitled "Lincoln Trails and Shrines" prepared in 1938 by Esther Marian Shubert for a Library Science course. Originally prepared for use in the Ricker Library of Architecture at the University of Illinois, the paper contains sections on general books, Lincoln statues, Lincoln busts, monuments, parks, and historic houses and buildings associated with Lincoln. Also included are sections on graves as shrines, trees and gardens as memorials, and the Lincoln Highway. An appendix includes the locations of Lincoln memorials and a list of libraries that have Lincoln collections.
