Scope and Contents:
The first notebook in this collection contains pictures (mostly slides but some prints) of Lincoln Hall, Altgeld Hall, Memorial Stadium, Huff Gym, and University High School on the campus of the University of Illinois as well as other nearby landmarks, including the Wesley Foundation, Carle Park, and Allerton Park. The pictures were taken for a photography class in 1988.
The second notebook is entitled "A Short History of Lincoln Hall, 1990." Together with a file of related materials, it is a collection of copies of correspondence in the University Archives. The copies are in chronological order.
Mildred J. Brannon gave the collection to the Preservation and Conservation Association (Champaign, Ill.). Karen Kummer, executive director of PACA, then gave it to the University of Illinois Library's Illinois History and Lincoln Collections. Dr. Brannon, who graduated from University High School and received her Ph.D. from the University, was a professor of Mathematics at Portland (Ore.) State University before her retirement.
