Scope and Contents:
This collection contains a petition to the President of the Great Western Railway of Illinois signed by 18 residents of Willson, Illinois. The residents of Willson, writing from Illiopolis, Illinois, ask the President of the Great Western Railway to "make a switch" on the rail line one mile west of the town of Willson. They write that they are willing to relocate to the new proposed town that would be established by creating a rail line switch. The petition is dated July 18, 1865.
The Library purchased this collection in the spring of 2016. It was acquired with printed ephemera purchased for the Van Norman, Clarendon, Jr., Collection of Lincoln and Illinois Ephemera (MS 852).
