This collection consists of microfilm copies of land records held by the Auditor of Public Accounts regarding the sale of specific categories of land granted from the federal government to the state. These include swamp lands (1 reel), school lands (1 reel), and saline reserve lands (1 reel), with a particular focus on the Gallatin Saline Reserve.

The originals of these records are located in the Illinois State Archives, as indicated in the attached inventory. The Library acquired the microfilm in 1974.
