This collection contains microfilm copies of tract books (17 reels), kept at ten U.S. land offices in Illinois, that record the original sales of government land. There is also a map indicating the boundaries of the districts. In addition, the collection includes transcripts of the locations of military warrants in Illinois, and indices to these records (3 reels). Deed books and other collected documents from the Kaskaskia District Land Office (2 reels) are also included for the period 1804-1814.
The originals of these records are located in the Illinois State Archives, as indicated in the attached inventory. The library acquired the microfilm in 1974 and 1976.
