Central Illinois Jewish Communities Web Archive | Illinois History and Lincoln Collections
The Central Illinois Jewish Communities Web Archive Collection contains archived websites documenting places, people, and stories of significance to central Illinois’ small-town Jewish communities. The collection includes archived articles documenting the closings of synagogues throughout central Illinois and the impact such events had on the larger community. The collection also features archived websites from organizations and congregations in Peoria, Champaign-Urbana, Bloomington, Mattoon, and small-town communities in Central Illinois.
This initiative, launched by the Illinois History and Lincoln Collections, uses Archive-It, a web archiving service created by the Internet Archive. The born digital content contains archived websites of synagogues and temples, businesses owned by Jewish persons, meetinghouses, social clubs, and other places of worship or community.
