Caption from Champaign-Urbana News-Gazette reads: "FRATERNITY TAKES WOMEN. Beta Alpha Psi, honorary accountancy fraternity founded in 1919, Thursday night initiated its first women members. Eugene C. Lohman, president of Geneseo, here congratulates Dorothy Litherland, Urbana assistant professor of accountancy. Looking on, left to right, are Joseph B. Lanterman, named honorary member, controller of American Steel Foundaries, Chicago, a graduate of the UI in 1936; Lohman, Joanne, Martie, Mokena senior; Professor Litherland: Professor H. T. Seoville, head of the business organization and operations department of the UI, founder; Marjorie Boyle, Sedorus junior, and Dean Paul Green of the college of commerce. The initiation was held at the University Men's club."
