C.F. Williams, co-founder of the first Illinois "Homecoming" in 1910, sits on the steps of Illini Hall. "Dab" Williams, a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, and Elmer Ekblaw, editor of the Daily Illini, conceived the idea of Homecoming on the steps of the University YMCA (now Illini Hall) in 1909.
