Allen Family Papers (Digital Surrogates) includes Ralph Allen audio recordings containing eight digitized audio tapes of interviews, memorials, and discussions covering years 1949 to1967, concerning research, experimentation and achievements in the fields of agricultural studies, crop sciences and horticulture, mainly regarding corn and soil treatment; agricultural associations in Illinois, specially the Farm Bureau and the Illinois Agricultural Association; preservation of knowledge and history in agriculture; and personal memories concerning migration to US and student life during the University early years. Interviews and recordings were created by Ralph Allen or under his request. Significant interviewees or speakers include Professor Joseph Blair, Paschal and Edith Hatch Allen, James L Reid's great grandson, Dave Thompson, and Frank W. Hatten. Transcripts of these audio recordings can be located in this record series finding aid, box 12, reels 1-8.

Also includes correspondence, historical family documents, and photographs.
