Sports Interviews Records Audiovisual Digital Surrogates includes two digitized films of interviews, one with Claude "Buddy" Young concerning football at Illinois in the decades from 1940 to 1967; effects of athletic competition on race relations; discrimination in Champaign-Urbana; professionalism in college football and professional football; relationships between students and athletics; experiences of students from non-athletic curriculums practicing professional football; school spirit and loyalty; and football formations, and one with Burt Ingwersen concerning his football career at Illinois (1917-1919); his teammates; the 1914 Illinois football team; style of play during that era; Coach Robert Zuppke; development of football terminology; relationship between the student body and the athletes; and the current (1967) Illinois football team.
