Caption accompanying photo reads, "Dedicate UI's WILL-TV: Appropriate ceremonies dedicated the University of Illinois' educational television station, WILL-TV, on Channel 12, Wednesday evening. Pictured at the ceremony, with a plaque dedicating the 5,000-watt transmitter to the memory of William A. Knight, II. UI '34, son of Prof. and Mrs. A.R. Knight, Urbana - the transmitter was a gift of General Electric - are left to right: W.A. Mann, St. Louis, MO., GE commercial vice president, presenting plaque; Richard L. Rider, assistant manager of WILL-TV, who was master of ceremonies; UI President David Dodds Henry; Dean William L. Everitt, UI College of Engineering and Prof. Frank E. Schooley, University broadcasting director.
