Portrait of Walter Elmer Ekblaw (B.A. 1910), editor of the Daily Illini (1910), co-founder, along with Clarence F. Williams, of the first University homecoming (Oct. 15, 1910), geologist and botanist of the Crocker Land expedition, a 1913-17 exploration of the Arctic in search of undiscovered land, which, in reality, was later discovered to be a mirage, and faculty member in geography at Clark University (1924-49).
