Papers of Evelyn Bristol (1925-2006), professor of Slavic languages and literature (1965-2003), includes curriculum vitae and biographical materials (1974-2000); annual reports (1973-2000); professional activities including materials on conferences and conventions attended (1963-2000); administrative subject file (1942-2002); correspondence with colleagues, publishers, and students (1962-2000); manuscripts (1954-1994); publications (1949-2000); and course materials (1956-2001).

Biographical Note

Evelyn Bristol was born on May 25, 1925.  She was a professor of Slavic Languages and Literature and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 1965 to 2003.  Bristol authored "A History of Russian Poetry" (Oxford University Press, 1960) and over 60 different articles, encyclopedia entries and reviews on Russian Literature.
