Scope and Contents of the Materials

Sound recording on 1/4" polyester tape of a meeting held on May 11, 1965 at the campus YMCA during which representatives of the State Department discussed United States involvement in Vietnam with four representatives of an ad hoc faculty committee on the Vietnam War. State Department speakers include: Thomas F. Conlon, Earle Young, and Lt.Col. Rolphe Hillman; faculty speakers include Eqbal Ahmed, Frederick K. Lehman, Solomon B. Levine, and Charles E. Osgood.

This series also includes a May 17, 1965 newspaper clipping from the National Observer about the meeting and "teach-ins" on the Vietnam involvement.
