Caption on back reads, "It's farewell to Alma Mater with graduation coming up June 15 for four paraplegic students in the University of Illinois, left to right: William E. Fife, Sioux City, Ia.; Jack Chase, Maple Falls, Wash.; Tom Luttier, Lakewood, Ohio; and Ronald L. Smoot, Danville, Ill. They are the largest group of handicapped students to receive diplomas; The first of their group Donald W. Swift, Lapeer, Mich., received his diploma in February. Thirty students confined to wheelchairs, and 22 others with varying handicaps are studying in the University, taking advantage of facilities giving them the opportunity for education in many fields and all-around student life."
