The stations first director of broadcasting and public information, Josef Wright, was appointed in 1926 and the radios first full-time staff member, Frank Schooley, was hired in 1929. Later in 1941, WILL became the second FM station in the state of Illinois and was the first university station to be granted this license and in 1955 WILL-TV began broadcasting. Today the not-for-profit station aims to provide educational, entertaining, inspiring, and empowering content for its listeners through web and radio broadcasts.
