Contains forty-seven RCA and RCA-Victor 78 rpm sound recordings of the John Philip Sousa and the Arthur Pryor Bands recorded between 1910 and 1932; thirty-six original acetate disk recordings of the Edwin Franko Goldman Band recorded between 1940 and ca. 1956; seventy-eight original acetate disk recordings of the New York Symphonic Band, WPA Symphonic Band, World's Fair Band, U.S. Army Band, Bachman Band, Central Railroad Band, Coast Guard Band, and Cities Service Band of America dating between 1940 and 1958; and two reel-to-reel audio tape recordings of an unidentified Goldman Band performance. In addition there is one original acetate disk recording of a 1951 concert performance of the Band of America with Priscilla Sousa. The only the set of recordings available for playback are those compact discs listed as "Reference Copies". Phonographic Recordings described as having "unidentified content" are awaiting reformatting and are not available for playback at this time.
