Caption on reverse of image reads, "Straight-A Scholars  Urban-Champaign, Ill.: Student of the atom, (left to right) Leon W. Florschuetz, of Paw Paw, Ill.; Joseph P. Castro, of Urbana, ILL.; and Harlan W. Johnson of Urbana, Ill., will receive the first degrees from the University of Illinois' new Nuclear Engineering Program. They will be given Master of Science degrees in nuclear engineering at commencement exercises June 13th. Castro and Johnson, both U.S. Army Captains, will go on to new assignments with the Corps of Engineers. Florschuetz plans to work for his doctorate degree in mechanical engineering at Illinois, which started the post-graduate nuclear training for men with degrees in engineering or science.
