The School of Basic Medical Sciences (Urbana-Champaign) was established by the Board of Trustees as of August 1, 1970, by action taken July 22, 1970, the school provides basic science instruction. The board approved the affiliation agreements with hospitals in Champaign (Burnham), Urbana (Carle and Mercy), and Danville (U.S.V.A.) on April 21, 1971.
