Orientation Program in American Law (OPAL) Subject File includes correspondence and reports from E. Allen Farnsworth (Director, 1964-67), A. Kenneth Pye (Director, 1967-69), Melvin G. Schimm (Director, 1969-71), and Michael Cardozo (Executive Director) with the advisory committee regarding foundation funding, project management, curriculum, faculty and participants. OPAL provided an orientation in American law for foreign students coming to the U.S. to attend law schools. The OPAL program consisted of nine-week summer session seminars held at Princeton University (1965-68) and Brown University (1969-70).
