Term Records containing alphabetical lists of students for each year and showing courses and grades. The series includes special lists of new students (1876), students granted permission to take two or four special subjects (1877-80), students excused from chapel and drill (1877-80) and students receiving demerits (1885-91). The records include preparatory students.
The series includes microfilm copies of handwritten student grade books (ca. 1873-74, 1885), listing students' names and matriculation numbers showing course grades and titles; preparatory school register (1893-1901) and students' term records (1891-99).
In 1893, the duties associated with admissions, registration, and student records were transferred from the Regent to the newly formed Office of the Registrar.1 By 1916, according to the Annual Budget, the office consisted of four administrative divisions: Admissions, Records, Statistics and General Assistants. The Statistics Division merged with the Records Division in 1941, forming the Division of Records and Statistics.2 The Division of Records maintains student transcripts and tuition payment records, assesses fees and tuition, and issues certificates of attendance.3
