Description: James Collins Papers include correspondence and photographs acquired by the Library upon purchase of the James Collins Library in 1917. The papers include correspondence to James Collins (1898-1909) concerning the 1798 rebellion and Collins's involvement with friendly societies and the Dawson Fund. The collection also includes correspondence collected by Collins (1819-1894) from John Gilmore, F. M. Antonia, Joseph Carson, Harmon Crawford, Charles Dawson, E. C. S. Fitzwilliams, Thomas O'Hagan, and N. Sullivan;  four photographs of the burial of Michael Davitt (June 1906); and letters to Michael Davitt from Henry W. Cleary and E. T. Greaves (1890, 1899)
