The University Office for Planning and Budgeting (UOPB) supports university-wide processes in three major areas: (1) budget development and analysis; (2) institutional research and analytical studies; (3) strategic planning.
UOPB provides staff support and coordination for the University's strategic planning process. UOPB is responsible for development and documentation of the University's annual operating and capital budget requests. The office conducts a variety of analytical studies to support the planning and budget development processes and to meet reporting requirements of state and federal agencies. The office also participates in the allocation of annual state appropriations and in the production of management information related to the university's operation.
Finally, the office prepares and coordinates exchange of information about the university with peer institutions and with other participants in the Association of American Universities Data Exchange.
The office was established under its current name in 1979.
