Description: Published under various titles, the Alumni Directories and Yearbooks (1909- ) functioned primarily as directories of graduates and former students of the University of Illinois living in and around Chicago. In addition to lists of such people (providing at different times names, majors, occupations, addresses, and telephone numbers), the books also include information about University of Illinois-related organizations in the Chicago area, photos of University administrators, sports results and statistics, historical articles, lists of Illini killed in World War II, and updates on the University.
Some issues have distinct topics: the “Inaugural Number” (1931), the “Century of Progress Edition” (1933), the “Athletic Edition” (1935), the “New Building Edition” (1941), and the "Victory Edition” (1946).
