Papers of Paul Nissley Landis (1893-1970, Ph.D. '23), professor of English (1925-1961), including correspondence, notes, and typescripts of poems written by Illini Poetry Club members from ca. 1923-32, published in Illini Poetry 1918-1923 and Illini Poetry 1924-1929 (edited by Landis), submitted to the 1930 Poetry Prize contest, or written to fulfill an assignment for English 10b (1931). The collection includes poems by Richmond Lattimore (Ph.D. '35), alumni and faculty of the University of Illinois and invitations of John Marquand and Archibald MacLeish to appear at the Festival of the Contemporary Arts (1949-50).
