Scope and Contents of the Materials

Papers of Muriel Scheinman (Ph.D., 1981) contains correspondence, articles, draft manuscripts, notes, lectures, newspaper clippings, photographs, 35 mm negatives and contact prints, and slides gathered in preparation for writing or for use in her dissertation "Art Collecting at the University of Illinois" (1981) and subsequent book "A Guide to Art at the University of Illinois" (1995).  This series includes photographs of works of murals, plaques, busts, sculpture, and portrait paintings in University buildings and located on the Chicago and Urbana-Champaign campuses and Allerton Park.
