Scope and Contents of the Materials

Papers of Thomas Page, professor of political science (1953-73), containing agendas, minutes and reports of the Illinois State Personnel Department and Civil Service Commission, including revisions on personnel rules, recommendations and resolutions for grievances filed by state employees and amendments to the position classification plan.  Page served as Secretary of the Personnel Advisory Board.  The Papers contain research materials on population and planning in Nashville, Tennessee and Los Angeles, California; publications, Legislative Apportionment in Kansas (1952) and "Merit and Patronage in State Manpower Systems" (1965); departmental correspondence and student papers concerning financial aid at the University of Illinois and governance of the Illini Union.
