Caption on back reads: "GALESBURG, Ill., Dec. [date illegible] - Good old St. Nick (far right) made a pre-holiday jump to the University Undergraduate Division at Galesburg where almost 100 members of the faculty and administrative staff and their families gathered for a Christmas banquet in the campus Grill. The old man with the whiskers was in a jovial mood as he made his first tour of new division here and listened to speeches of welcome by University personnel who will see him again at their homes during the 16-day holiday vacation. Standing (left to right) are L. O. Kerwood, examiner and recorder; Dr. Daniel W. Snader, head of the mathematics department; Mrs. M. J. Galbraith; G. E. Giesecke, assistant dean, and Mrs. Gieseck; Dean Frederic R. Hamilton; Mr. Galbraith, director of student welfare; William J. English, business manager; Mrs. Snader; R. V. Nystrom, manager of the public relations department; and David P. Marble, instructor in chemistry, as Santa Claus."
