Note on back reads: "JK. Experimental brick making. Bricks from mud - testing for construction. Class practical work - ag. engineering." (JK stands for Joseph Kastelic, a professor of animal science and head of the Department of Animal Nutrition at the University of Illinois, who was spending two years in Sierra Leone as Njala University was established.)
