Scope and Contents of the Materials

The Improvised Drama films contain 16 mm films featuring Dorothy Heathcote and Wallace W. Douglas. Heathcote was an English drama educator and guest professor at Northwestern University in the 1970s. Wallace was a Northwestern English Professor and chair of the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) in 1969. Wallace was also involved with the NCTE Advisory Council from 1965-1968. The films were produced by Chicago Public Schools, Northwestern University, and BBC.
