The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (OVCDEI) was officially inaugurated on July 1, 2018. Formerly known as the Office of Equity and Access (OEA), the OVCDEI was created as a result of a 2017 External Review Report on Diversity and Inclusion that pointed towards a need to increase diversity efforts at the University of Illinois.
Description: The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (OVCDEI) was officially inaugurated on July 1, 2018. Formerly known as the Office of Equity and Access (OEA), Its stated mission is to guide the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in its efforts to create a campus community that is welcoming, accessible, and equitable for all. The OVCDEI oversees the following campus departments: the ADA Coordinator’s Office, Title IX Office, Title VI Office, Office for Access & Equity, Executive Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity, and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Native Affairs. Collection contains Illinois Impact Reports (2013-2015) and program brochures (2007-2025).
