Description: Helen Louise Gage Scrapbook, 1916-1919, includes the papers and scrapbook of Helen Louise Gage, B.A. Home Economics 1919. Includes a scrapbook of Helen's time at the University from 1916-1919; correspondence; news clippings; photographs; programs from various music performances, convocations, and commencements; scrap papers and ephemera; and university/course papers, notes, exams and schedules. Also includes the University of Illinois Regulations for the Guidance of Undergraduate Students, and The Illinois Students' Hand Book Vol. XXXIII (published by the University Christian Associations), 1916. The scrapbook includes an autograph page, photographs, labeled ephemera from extracurricular activities, postcards of University activities, and programs (especially church- and music-related).
Helen Louise Gage (ca. 1898-1977) attended the University of Illinois from 1916-1919, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Home Economics. While at the U. of I., Helen was actively involved in the Young Women's Christian Association and Omicron Nu, an Honorary Household Science Society.
