Marvin H. Mischnick was a veteran of the Third Armored Division of the First United States Army, serving with the 23rd Armored Engineering Battlaion as a Technician, 5th class. He served with the division in the European Theatre during WWII. He was also the Division Headquarters Photographer and captured photos documenting the war and those experiencing it that would later go on to be published in newspapers and in books about the Third Armored Division. His enthusiasm for photography gives us a glimpse into sides of the war left untapped by some other accounts.
