Description: Roy Van Arsdall (1927-2017) was a professor of farm management in the Consumer Sciences & Agricultural Economics Department at the University of Illinois. He was known for his work for the USDA Economic Research Service and for leading the first delegation of agricultural scientists to China, following the end of the Chinese Cultural Revolution.
The collection contains Van Arsdall's publications, research materials, drafts, reports and articles, conference papers, as well as his reports published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture regarding cattle raising in the United States, beef cattle production, costs of producing selected crops in the U.S., and the economic costs and impacts of farming.
