Steven Salaita Controversy Index and Reference File, 2007-2015 | University of Illinois Archives

The Steven Salaita Index and Reference File (2007-2015) provides an index to publicly-available resources regarding the August 1, 2014 decision by the University of Illinois Board of Trustees to deny an offer of employment to Steven Salaita. The preserved materials include (a) textual documents and other records produced by offices, units, or employees of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and posted to the Internet or released as Freedom of Information Act responses; (b) webpages, news articles, blog postings, reddit discusssions, online petitions, and other resources captured by the Internet Archive; and (c) public tweets, Facebook pages, YouTube videos, and other Internet-accesible resources captured locally. Materials in categories (a) and (b) are preserved and made accessible through the Internet Archive. Materials in category (c) are currently unavailable for use but will be preserved in the Library's preservation repository and made accessible as soon as archival processing has been completed.
