Arthur H. Mason Family Papers (1857-2011) includes materials documenting the family history, early life in Champaign-Urbana, University of Illinois career, World War I service, and adult life of Arthur H. Mason (1894-1983; B.A., 1916), a noted Illinois track star and officer in the 332nd Field Artillery during World War I; includes materials on father Arthur S. Mason, mother Othilda Helgeson Mason, wife Florence Pray Mason, and children Frances Abbie Mason Penwell and Adele Mason Moore, and genealogical materials on Mason, Helgeson and Norgaard families. Materials include photographs and photo albums, news clippings, correspondence, and scrapbooks; Urbana High School and University of Illinois publications; University of Illinois track memorabilia and awards; Ma-Wan-Da and Delta Upsilon Fraternity documentation; diplomas; army insignia; travel materials including extensive postcard collections and World War I-era French guide books and postcards.
