Curtis (1942-10) Professor of Animal Sciences (1970-90) includes biographical information, awards, publications (1970-07), correspondence and patents (1975-94), Animal Sciences departmental, research, grants, and curriculum files from Curtis's appointment at the University of Missouri, the University of Illinois, and Pennsylvania State Uniersty (1968-06), memberships in professional organizations, conferences, presentations, extension interviews and speaking engagements relating to swine nutrition, husbandry and confinement, American Society of Animal Science, Farm Animal Welfare Coalition, and the development of campaigns in response to the 1970s and 1980s animal welfare/animal rights movement, including improvements in feeders and housing to provide more humane conditions for food production animals (1973-07), and Curtis's congressional testimony before the United States House of Representatives Agriculture Committee regarding animal husbandry practices in American agriculture (1989).
