Description: Board of Trustees Reports including minutes of Board & Executive Committee meetings, covering academic policies, administration, fiscal management, staff appointments, student affairs, lists of students receiving degrees and certificates (1872-), listings of trustees administrative Officers, Council, Senates, Officers of the Alumni, Dads Mothers, and Athletic Associations; and the Before 1952, lists of faculty and staff and summaries of students were included. For 1887-1906, reports of the State Laboratory of Natural History, Agricultural Experiment Station, Biological Experimental Station and Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine were given. Reports include the University Circular and Catalogue (1867-75, and Organization of the University between 1876-85, University library catalog (1868-1870), a report on Illinois farm soils, practices, crops and livestock (1869-1874) and including between 1874 & 1890, concerning agricultural topics. Programs reprinted include: the Inauguration of the University, with addresses of Dr. Newton Bateman and Regent John M. Gregory (1868); the laying of the cornerstone for the drill hall and mechanical shops with addresses by Jonathan Turner and Bateman (1870); the dedication of "New" University Hall with addresses by Gregory, Gov. John Beveridge and Gen. John Eaton (1886); Henry Weber's "Historical Sketch" of the "Development of Chemistry" for the opening of a new chemistry laboratory (June 5, 1878). Historical sketches exist also for the University on its 20th anniversary (1888). and for the College of Engineering in 1894. In 1871, incidental items include programs of commencement exercises (1873-75), lists of 4-year students (1872-75), general lists of students and alumni (1876), statistical tables (1874-75) and listed occupations of graduates (1888-92).
