Danville Brewing and Ice Company Records includes trial balances (1912-13); beer delivery registers, (1904-05); weekly beer sales registers (1895-25); canned malt production journal (1929-31); beer-batch cooling record (1918-21); laborers' time books and payroll records (1894-1919); incorporation papers and meeting minutes (1901);Â letter press copy journals (1894-1909); cash journal (1906-11);Â expenditures (1894-1906); non-alcoholic products production record (1920-22);Â Beer-batch ingredients record (1894-1903); IRS fermentation materials purchase reportÂ (1899-1902); IRS brewery production reports (1895-1906); and Stock certificate register (1894-97).

Collection Historical Note

According to the 1895 Danville City Directory, the Danville Brewing and Ice Company was located on East North Street in Danville, Illinois and was described as manufacturing select and exported beers. The letter press copy journal mentions missing crates of beer delievery to Chicago during the prohibition.
