Stewart S. Howe Foundation Records contain correspondence, last will and testament (1958), biographical information, financial and investment statements, tax returns, reports concerning the management of the Howe Foundation, including requests for and disbursements of funds for fraternity and educational projects, extensive correspondence with University Library and the Library Friends regarding the creation and development of the Friendscript newsletter and with the University of Illinois Foundation, Library, and President's Office regarding University handling of the funds and delays in action on objectives of the Howe Foundation, establishment of the 1989 Stewart Howe Endowment fund for the University Archives. Correspondents include Carlyle Anderson, William Bringham, First Illinois Bank of Evanston, Lewis Barron, B. A. Nugent, and John Williamson of the University Foundation, Hugh Atkinson, Scott Bennett, Maynard Brichford, Linda Hoffman, and Joan Hood of the Library.
