Caption on back: Dean Allen S. Weller of the University of Illinois College of Fine and Applied Arts examines two paintings given by Dr. Karl A. Meyer of Chicago to the University's permanent art collection. At left is a painting by 19th Century Italian artist, Cesare Detti. The second painting is a 17th Century English portrait, identified only as belonging to the "School of Lely." Dr. Moyer, surgeon and medical superintendent of Cook County Hopital, is an Illinois alumnus and a former president of the University's Board of Trustees.
