Historical Note: Loren Kent (1895-1977) was a professional tuba musician and barber. His music career included time spent with the Great Lakes Navy Battalion 7th Regiment Band, touring four seasons with the John Philip Sousa Band during the 1920s, and playing in the Olney Cummins Community Band. Kent was also a member of the Sousa Fraternal Society. He also managed the Olney Cummins Band for fifty years.
