Name: Carol Schaffner Dickson (1925-2009)

Historical Note: Carol Schaffner Dickson graduated from the University of Illinois in 1946. She majored in Journalism and worked on the Illio Yearbook staff, serving as Assistant Editor in 1946. She was also a member of Theta Sigma Phi, a professional journalism fraternity, and the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority.¹ During her time at Illinois, Carol corresponded with multiple WWII soldiers and headed an Illini Union alumni department committee to keep records of Gold Star Illini.²
