Description: Libraries Study Project File includes correspondence, bibliographies, reports, and scope notes relating to the compilation of law library booklists on topics including Administrative Law, Civil Procedure, Copyright Law, Foreign Law, International Law, Labor Law, Tax Law, and Trade Regulation. The Libraries Study Project, partially funded by the Council of Library Resources, created book selection lists, rated in three degrees of preference, designed to guide the acquisition policies of member law libraries and other interested law libraries. Proposed in 1963, the project began in May 1964, produced draft booklists in 1966, and completed its work in August 1970. The resultant publication was Law Books Recommended for Libraries. Correspondents include Miles O. Price (Law Studies Project Director), Meira G. Pimsleur (Project Library Specialist), Michael H. Cardozo (Executive Director), Advisory Committee members Morris L. Cohen, Charles W. Fornoff, J. Myron Jacobstein, Leo J. Raskind, and Lehan K. Tunks, and the Council of Library Resources.
Libraries Study Project records can also be found in record series 14/80/110; see also 14/80/712 for recommended law books.
