Description:

Records books (1870-73) kept by the secretary of the Illinois Industrial University College government containing minutes of meetings of the general assembly and the council and copies of the constitution and by-laws. The proceedings include election returns and reports of offenses tried and fines assessed.

The series also include a journal (1877-83) kept by the secretary of the Student Senate of the Illinois Industrial University, including minutes of Senate meetings, roll calls for meetings (1877-82), and related documents. The proceedings relate to the management of the Illini, elections, abolition of student government, by-laws, and student discipline and are supplemented by about 30 documents filed with the Senate.
