Scope and Contents of the Materials

Papers of Glenn Mann, (1960-2001), Administrative Supervisor Electronic Shop at the Physics Lab, 1951-1986 and engineer at WDWS, include newspaper clippings, many pertaining to 1982 explosion in Nuclear Physics Lab; photos of lab & employees; technical rendering of FIFO Hardshake Register; and cassette recording of WDWS report on the nuclear accident.

Biographical Note

Glenn Mann: (b. 1923?-  ) Champaign, IL native, worked as a printer in high school years, graduated Champaign High School, spent two years in US Army, attended University of Illinois for three years, ran an electronic organ business for 15 years.  Employed at UIUC from 1951-1986, retired as Administrative Supervisor of an electronics shop at the Nuclear Physics Laboratory.
