Digital Surrogates and Born Digital Records from the Archives Exhibits File include digitized material from selected collections as well as electronic material produced by the University Archives, regarding special exhibits published at the Archives' website, or physical exhibits curated by the Archives' staff.

Includes electronic materials concerning the following exhibits:

-"Dream Singer and Story Teller: Langston Hughes at the University of Illinois", published in February 20, 2015;

-Materials relating to Forrest I. Peters Papers, 1922-60 and to Carl Woese Papers, 1911-2013,

-"Dance at Illinois. Milestones and Contributions", installed at the Library's Marshall gallery in May 2017 (concerning Margaret Erlanger's papers (Series 12/13/20), Dance Department Records (12/13/1), Dance Programs (RS 12/13/805), and Archives Exhibits File (Series 35/3/54).
