"Profs. Robert K. Mautz (left) and Norton M. Bedford (right) have been selected as Weldon Powell Professors for 1969-70 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The announcement was made by Prof. E. Joe DeMaris (center), head of the department of accountancy and chairman of the Weldon Powell Awards Committee. The professorship is the highest honor conferred by the department, the largest department of accountancy in the nation. It is named for Weldon Powell, a U. of I. graduate who was a partner in Haskins & Sells, New York, and a leader in the accounting profession when he was was killed in an auto accident in 1965."
